Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 August 2026
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Lineup Labs (OPC) Private Limited ("roads.fyi", "we", "us", or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the roads.fyi website, maps, road reports, rankings, accounts, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, checking the acceptance box, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to create an account or submit a road report. Age is self-declared and we do not independently verify it. You must provide accurate information, keep control of your verified mobile number, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access.
Each person may maintain only one active account. You may not sell, transfer, lend, or share an account, or use verification to evade a restriction.
3. What roads.fyi does
The Service lets people view and submit reports about road conditions. Reports, scores, tags, addresses, map geometry, rankings, and related information may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, duplicated, or outdated. A report is a community signal at a point in time, not an official finding, promise of access, or professional assessment.
We do not inspect roads, verify every report, control traffic, repair infrastructure, dispatch assistance, or guarantee that any route is open, lawful, passable, accessible, or safe for any person or vehicle.
4. Safety and assumption of risk
Do not use or interact with the Service while driving or in any way that distracts you from your surroundings. Do not trespass, stop in an unsafe place, enter a closed area, obstruct traffic, or violate law to view or submit a report. For emergencies, contact the appropriate local emergency or road authority.
You are solely responsible for route choices, travel, vehicle suitability, protective equipment, supervision, accessibility needs, weather decisions, and your response to actual conditions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you assume all risks arising from travel, road use, and reliance on Service information.
5. Your reports and licence to us
You retain any rights you have in content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, aggregate, publish, display, distribute, analyse, moderate, and use that content to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Service. This licence continues for copies already shared or incorporated into aggregated, de-identified, backup, legal, or security records to the extent permitted by law.
You represent that your content is based on a genuine observation, that you have the right to submit it, and that it does not violate law or another person's rights. Do not submit personal data, allegations about identifiable people, plate numbers, confidential information, or content unrelated to observable road conditions.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- submit false, fabricated, manipulated, duplicate, or misleading reports;
- harass, threaten, defame, impersonate, or expose another person;
- upload malware or interfere with the Service or another user;
- scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or access the Service by unauthorized means;
- evade rate limits, access controls, moderation, or account restrictions;
- use Service data to make high-stakes safety decisions without independent verification; or
- use the Service or its data in violation of law or third-party terms.
7. Third-party services and data
The Service relies on third-party maps, road datasets, place search, verification, hosting, and infrastructure. Third-party content and services remain subject to their own licences and terms. Map attribution shown with a map is part of the map and must not be removed, hidden, or obscured.
Google Maps and Places features are subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms and the Google Terms of Service. Google's handling of personal data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, outages, changes, content, or conduct.
8. Intellectual property
Except for your content and identified third-party material, the Service, its software, design, branding, and original content belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended personal purpose. No other right is granted.
9. Moderation, suspension, and termination
We may investigate, reject, edit, restrict, aggregate, or remove content, and suspend or terminate access, when we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect users, the Service, third parties, or legal compliance. We are not required to monitor every report and moderation does not mean we verify or endorse remaining content.
You may delete individual reports or your account through the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive will continue, including licences already granted, releases, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute terms.
10. Release
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release Lineup Labs (OPC) Private Limited and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, service providers, successors, and assigns from claims, demands, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from or related to road conditions, travel, your content, other users' content or conduct, third-party data or services, and your reliance on the Service. This release does not apply where prohibited by law.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, security, title, non-infringement, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage.
We do not warrant that reports are genuine, that scores predict actual conditions, that map locations or addresses are correct, that defects will be fixed, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or free from harmful components.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- we and the released parties are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill, opportunity, expected savings, or use;
- we are not liable for injury, death, property damage, vehicle damage, fines, delay, travel costs, route changes, business interruption, or any harm connected with road conditions, travel, user content, third-party data, or third-party conduct; and
- our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from or related to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose or INR 4,000.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits. In those jurisdictions, liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lineup Labs (OPC) Private Limited and the released parties from claims, losses, liabilities, judgments, settlements, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your content, your use or misuse of the Service, your road or travel conduct, your violation of these Terms or law, or your infringement of another person's rights.
14. Disputes and governing law
Contact us first at support@roads.fyi so we can try to resolve a dispute informally within 30 days. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. To the maximum extent permitted by law, courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer protections and access to a competent consumer forum remain unaffected.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, claims must be brought on an individual basis and not as a class, collective, consolidated, private attorney general, or representative proceeding.
15. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. We may update these Terms and will post the revised date. Where required, we will give additional notice or request renewed acceptance. Continuing to use the Service after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
16. General terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. A failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or transfer of the Service. We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
